It falls slowly down a blue abyss into an infinite emptiness. As he descends, light filters faintly across the surface of the water. He does not remember how or when he got here, but the soft throbbing in his ears and in his most primal centre allows him to continue without fear. He floats among shoals of fish, mossy ruins and strange beings that stare at him indifferently.
A solid, glowing energy sweeps over him, guiding him along the ocean depths. In the distance he sees what look like stellar bodies, which, as he gets closer, reveal themselves to be small underwater bonfires. Each one speaks to him of an ancient and familiar life. It had been a bird flying over the Amazon, sailed as a fleeting wave on a North Sea current, lived as a coffee tree somewhere in Central Africa, served as a Portuguese fisherman's wooden boat, and many other things that remained within the unquenchable fire at the bottom of the ocean. He walked on with the inner sun that continued to beat with a sure pulse and guided his serene trace.
